Almost a week with no posts?! I’m sorry!
February 17, 2010
Since we got snowed in my cooking quests have been minimal. With roads a mess, keeping us from going shopping, and people losing power all around us, I didn’t care to get caught in the middle of a recipe and be stuck unable to finish without power.
I got lucky though, I didn’t lose my power. It’s not that I didn’t cook at all, I did *gasp* bake a treat for Valentines Day, and I did recently re-attempt the French Chicken in a Pot which was much more successful than the last time!
That said, I do have some update-stories and pictures to share! More coming soon! I Promise!
By the way… The picture of the icicles I posted on Feb 9th? Now? It’s *MASSIVE!* It’s HUGE. It’s a freaking tree trunk. You’ll see… Pictures of that coming soon, too.
Snow day! Starting tonight…

It’s official, it’s a snow day at work, so I’ve got tomorrow off with the furballs, and maybe Eric, too! I already dropped the kittens in the snow and they seemed to like it! Zeno stayed low like a ferret, and Cali was off exploring. ^_^
Maybe tomorrow I’ll make valentines cupcakes or something… When it comes to the holidays, even the cheesy ones, it’s a good excuse to bake and not feel guilty! We’ll see what I can make with what I have in my cabinets…
The weatherman crashes my plans again!
February 9, 2010
This past weekend a girlfriend of mine celebrated her birthday at the Azie World Bistro in downtown Media. As always it’s great to get people together, even just for a few hours. A couple of the girls and I agreed to do a dinner tonight, I was going to make the French Chicken in a Pot again, but the weatherman wouldn’t have it. Again!
Just like with the holiday party plans in December, there was a storm looming at the edge of our forecast, and we were hoping it wouldn’t white-out our plans. Well, after talking a little yesterday and earlier today, the threat of being snowed in with dangerous roads all around, our little dinner party has been cancelled, and we’ll try again another day. *lesigh*
On a fun note… I think it’s time the kittens get their paws in the snow for the first time! Hehee…
Snow day from work tomorrow? Let’s hope so!
If you can’t find bread, milk and eggs at the store, it must mean a snow storm is coming.

If you live anywhere from Virginia to the edge of NYC, last night was probably a zoo at the grocery store. A few coworkers of mine were telling me how long (and angry) lines were for parking and checkout lines, stores barely had time to put food out for shoppers, and so many of the shelves were empty.
It’s craziness, people! It’s the northeast, you should be used to a foot of snow being dropped on you, and it’s not that scary! And why go shopping-crazy if no one is going to be able to come out on Superbowl Sunday?
Oh well, I am avoiding the stores for now, will probably will go out Sunday if the snow slows down and it’s clear enough to venture out. Maybe. I’ve been asked for the buffalo chicken dip again, if I do go out! ^_^
For now, we’ve got plenty of the casserole left over, last I saw, and still have greenbeans amandine to make (yum!) and our reserved frozen pizza and pasta meals incase we’re stuck or lazy.
